Pears
Pears have a delicate and sweet flavour with a subtle floral aroma and depending on the variety can range from slightly tart to very sweet. They pair well with warm spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger making them a perfect ingredient for cosy autumnal dishes. We’ve created a Pear crumble with a warming salted caramel sauce. -
Plums
Autumn is a wonderful time for plums and offer a sweet and slightly tangy flavour to create delicious dishes with. Plums pair well with a variety of ingredients, making them a versatile fruit to incorporate into sweet and savoury dishes such as honey, walnuts, goat’s cheese, almonds and ginger. -
Apples
Another fantastic fruit to cook with in autumn as they pair well with warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Much like pears, apples are in season during autumn and can be used in various recipes. From classic apple pies and crumbles to savoury dishes like our roasted pork loin with spiced apples recipe. -
Swede
This root vegetable has a slightly sweet and earthy flavour that can add depth of flavour. Swede can be boiled, steamed, roasted, mashed and used in a variety of comforting autumnal dishes and pairs well with other autumnal vegetables like carrots, potatoes and parsnips. -
Butternut squash
A popular ingredient in autumnal dishes because it’s in season. It has a sweet nutty flavour similar to pumpkin and pairs well with warming spices making it ideal for warming dishes. Often used in soups stews and risottos. Here we’ve created a stunning butternut squash tray bake with halloumi and oregano. -
Cauliflower
Cauliflower’s mild flavour makes it a great canvas to capture the essence of seasonal ingredients. Some popular autumnal recipes featuring cauliflower include roasted cauliflower steaks, soups, stews and gratins. We’ve used cauliflower to create two dishes that can be used as starters or small plates, click here to check out our buffalo cauliflower with blue cheese and hot sauce. -
Pumpkins
Known for their sweet flavour and vibrant orange colour, pumpkin is becoming a staple ingredient/flavour on autumnal menus perhaps because it can be used in a myriad of sweet and savoury dishes from soups, pasta dishes and risottos to breads, cakes and coffees. Here is our autumnal spiced pumpkin coffee recipe. -
Sea bass
This flaky white fish has a delicate flavour and pairs well with acidic, creamy, or herby flavours so you could serve with a garlic mash, herby basmati rice or a creamy spinach salad. Alternatively think about creating a nice crust on your seabass and serving with grilled vegetables. -
Hake
Hake is a delicious and versatile fish that can be enjoyed in a variety of dishes during the autumn season. This white fish has a mild flavour and a delicate texture, making it a fantastic choice for a wide range of recipes. It can be seasoned with herbs and spices and pan-seared, used to create a comforting chowder or oven baked and served with seasonal veg like in our hake with tomato and olives recipe. -
Haddock
Another delicious and versatile fish that can be used in a variety of delicious and comforting dishes that highlight the flavours of the season This flaky white fish has a slightly sweet flavour and a tender texture making it a great choice for autumn recipes such as in chowders and risottos and is also stunning roasted and served seasonal veg.

It's a great opportunity to appreciate the richness of British food heritage and the importance of supporting local food producers. -
National Vegetarian Week: 1st – 7th October
National Vegetarian Week aims to promote and highlight the benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle. It's a great time to think about your menu and look at offering more vegetarian and plant based dishes. -
National Curry Week: 7th-13th October
Established in 1998 to promote the cuisine and culture of curry in the UK, this annual event is now a staple in the foodie calendar. -
UK Coffee Week: 14th – 20th October
UK coffee week is an annual even that celebrates the UK's vibrant coffee culture while raising funds for coffee-growing communities around the world. This week long celebration serves as a platform to appreciate the art of coffee making showcasing different coffee varieties and blends and educating your customers on the journey from bean to cup. -
Halloween: 31st October
An opportunity to have some fun with your menu by adding a spooky twist or name to your dishes. -
Bonfire Night: 5th November
It’s not just about Bonfire night events, you can mix up your menu with some Bonfire night themed dishes. -
