Working together
Food and drink is Scotland’s best performing industry
Our extensive range of local products helps you celebrate the country’s natural larder. We are committed to supporting the industry and our customers with credible, independent advice on areas such as local sourcing and Taste Our Best accreditation, reducing food waste and promoting green tourism. Below we have outlined how we work with our partners and customers to support a sustainable future for Scottish food and drink:
Supporting your business
Taste Our Best
Bidfood Scotland is proud to partner with Visit Scotland on their Taste Our Best accreditation, promoting menus that celebrate local produce. To achieve the accreditation, restaurants and outlets have to display local Scottish ingredients that are fresh and seasonal, as well as providing information on provenance. Accredited outlets will demonstrate at least 40% Scottish produce on their menus and can include restaurants, bistros, pubs, coffee shops, visitor attractions or B&Bs – anywhere providing delicious, locally sourced food could be recognised with the Taste Our Best badge.
At Bidfood Scotland we support our customers with independent, expert advice and an extensive range of over 700 locally sourced products, providing everything you need to achieve the accreditation.
Our partners
Scotland Food and Drink
We are proud members of Scotland Food and Drink, who enable government and industry to work side by side to deliver continued success for the future. As members, we aim to support sustainable growth in the industry, promoting local products to our customers and championing Scotland’s wonderful suppliers and producers. Scotland Food and Drink work with over 460 members and lead the Scotland Food & Drink Partnership, composed of industry bodies and public sector organisations who work in Scotland.
Scottish Tourism Alliance
We are patrons of the Scottish Tourism Alliance, the representative body of the Scottish tourism industry. The organisation is made up of trade associations, businesses and groups with an interest in tourism. The STA engage with over 70% of tourism businesses in Scotland and their mission is to shape a vibrant tourism industry that encourages collaboration and supports growth. We support the STA’s annual patrons’ dinner and supply the Scottish food on their menu free of charge. We also regularly attend conferences to understand industry strategy, offering a wholesale perspective on provenance and food tourism in Scotland.

Green Tourism
We’re excited to be partnering with Green Tourism as one of their selected affiliates, helping to support local companies in providing a real taste of Scotland. The food and drink produced in Scotland is second to none and our range of small producers and growers, artisan bakers and boutique brewers keeps things small and local – something customers and visitors value.
More and more people are looking out for the Green Tourism logo as a sign that businesses are operating sustainably and responsibly. By working with Green Tourism, we offer our customers support and advice on how to adopt a sustainable approach from top to bottom.
