Ingredients
Sardine pâté: | |
Kingfisher sardines in sunflower oil | 2 cans |
Drained sardines, large bones removed | 120g |
Everyday Favourites unsalted butter, softened | 125g |
Everyday Favourites luxury full fat soft cheese | 125g |
Lemon juice | 3 tbsps |
Everyday Favourites cracked black peppercorn | to season |
To garnish: | |
Tomato, sliced | to garnish |
Spring onion, chopped | to garnish |
Wholegrain bread, sliced | for 8 people |
Method

- Purée the sardines, butter, soft cheese, and lemon juice in a food processor until almost smooth. Add pepper and more lemon juice to taste.
- Divide the sardine mixture among eight small ramekins (or put into one large bowl) and level the surface.
- Cover and chill in the refrigerator for a minimum of 30 minutes.
- Serve chilled on wholegrain bread, garnished with tomato and spring onion.
