Ingredients
Ziti penne pasta | 500g |
Olive oil | 1 tbsp |
Onion, chopped | 1 |
Cloves of garlic, minced | 4 |
Minced beef | 500g |
Everyday Favourites chopped tomatoes | 2 |
Everyday Favourites dried oregano | 1 tsp |
Everyday Favourites dried basil | 1 tsp |
Everyday Favourites grated mozzarella cheese | 500g |

- Preheat oven to 180°C.
- Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- To make the meat sauce, heat olive oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until onion is translucent and garlic is fragrant, about 5 minutes.
- Add the beef mince to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking up any clumps with a spatula.
- Stir in the chopped tomatoes, oregano and basil and season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Then, in a large baking dish, spread half of the cooked pasta on the bottom.
- Top with half of the meat sauce and half of the mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat with the remaining pasta, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
- Save a little of the mozzarella as a topping.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until cheese is deliciously melted and bubbly.
- Let the dish cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve with garlic bread and a side salad to make a complete meal.
