  • 14194 Ken Forrester renegade

Ken Forrester was first known for the quality of his Chenin Blanc, but is now a powerhouse of red wines too. Named Renagade as he was one of the first to create Rhone Blend in South Africa. Dark, brooding, and intense. Brambles, blackcurrants, black pepper, dark cherries, and blackberries. On the palate there is oak smoke, chocolate, and freshly roasted coffee. But none of this is at the expense of the bright, defined, and focused dark fruits.
  • 16952 Wither Hills rarangi sauvignon blanc

From a single vineyard right by the coast, this sauvignon picks up some subtle notes form the sea air. Fresh, vibrant aromatics of citrus, lemongrass, guava and subtle coriander characters jump from the glass. The palate shows rich purity of fruit and a dedication to texture and acidity, with minerality and richness being a prominent feature through the lengthy palate. The wine finishes with a rich, ripe phenolic spine that gives great length and texture. A Sauvignon Blanc well suited to a variety of foods; freshly shucked oysters or pan seared scallops to light Thai dishes infused with coriander and lime zest.
