Transport Supervisor (nights) – Slough

A bit about the role

The Slough Transport team forms an essential part of the Slough depot, working closely with the warehouse department to ensure the delivery of excellent customer service to our customers.

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing the nights operation of the Transport .This will involve managing the loading of vehicles, ensuring that they are loaded correctly and on time. Temperature controls must be managed and maintained, along with any vehicle defect that may become apparent during the night. You will also oversee the day drivers departure, ensuring a smooth exit each day whilst dealing with any issues that may arise.

You will also be responsible for ensuring Company Health and Safety procedures are carried out and that all drivers adhere to driving legislation at all times. You will be personally responsible for managing a team of Shunter/Trunkers and their performance using the company Telematics and driver KPIs, you will carry out CV accident investigations. Furthermore, at all times ensuring the service level to our customers is maintained. You will, in addition, have the ability to deal with both internal and external customers and also deal with any employee issues when required.

Working hours will be varied to fit in with the responsibilities.

You will be computer literate, have excellent communication skills, be an approachable team player with proven ability to meet strict deadlines. An LGV C licence, Digi Card and Drivers CPC card are required.
