We work as a team to provide every food option from quality ingredients to finished meals, including a number of own brand ranges as well as all the big brands and regional specialties. We believe in our food, and we know that our people behind the scenes are so very important in our success.
At Bidfood, we recognise that the quality of our Transport team is instrumental to our success. Our Transport Supervisors need to be able to induct, train, mentor and engage their teams, to inspire them to be the best they can be. We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a new Transport Supervisor in our Bicester Depot.
You’ll supervise the daily operation and performance of the Transport department in order to provide service excellence to internal and external customers within budget. In doing so, you’ll make sure the depot fleet is compliant with all relevant legislation and all goods are delivered to designated delivery points in the timescale required.
You’ll ensure effective teamwork within the Transport Department and that all Transport employees adhere to the required standards of performance. You’ll also ensure the team is engaged and motivated, and carry out absence management activity when necessary.
You’ll be responsible for monitoring and reducing costs where possible, as well as ensuring standards of customer service exceed what is required by the company.
You’ll ensure all Company equipment is maintained, including commercial vehicles, to a high standard and make sure all relevant records are maintained in order to conform to legislation as well as maintaining all documentation relating to tachographs and driver hours.
To be successful in this role you’ll have very strong people management skills and be able to build strong relationships with other departments. An Operator CPC qualification would be an advantage but not essential. LGV licence would also be an advantage but not essential and you’ll need experience in a fast-moving food distribution, transport office, environment. You will also have good computer literacy skills with knowledge of MS Office applications and be flexible in order to meet the needs of the business. If this is you, we look forward to hearing from you.
Your working pattern will be across 5 days out of 7, with your start time varying between 06:00 – 10:00, possibly on a rota basis.
