What is calorie labelling?
On the 6th of April 2022 new mandatory legislation came into effect in England requiring large business in the out of home sector (over 250 employees) to comply with calorie labelling legislation.
These businesses must now provide accurate calorie information (in kcal) for food and drink items at the point of choice (includes items chosen from a menu or from items on display), as well as the size of the portion to which the calorie information relates and the statement ‘adults need around 2000 kcal a day’.
