Calorie labelling
What is calorie labelling?
On the 6th of April 2022 new mandatory legislation came into effect in England requiring large business in the out of home sector (over 250 employees) to comply with calorie labelling legislation.
These businesses must now provide accurate calorie information (in kcal) for food and drink items at the point of choice (includes items chosen from a menu or from items on display), as well as the size of the portion to which the calorie information relates and the statement ‘adults need around 2000 kcal a day’.
We have a range of useful information, advice and examples on calorie labelling in our making sense of calorie labelling guide.

What do the experts say?
How Bidfood Direct MyRecipes can help you with calorie labelling
Using MyRecipes and the Menu Planning tool in our online shop, Bidfood Direct, you can create recipes and menus based on your agreed product range and pricing. Simply use the labelling tool within MyRecipes to generate a download which displays the calorie content, nutritional information per serve and per 100g and recommended calorie intake for adults, all of which can be used to create compliant labels.
For our DayMark customers, the DayMark button sends the calorie content and nutritional information across to menu command.
